COULD THERE BE A PART TWO IN THE WORKS?

The Prey: Legend Of Karnoctus starring Nick Chinlund, Kevin Grevioux, and Danny Trejo was directed by Cire Hensman. I really enjoyed this movie for what it was meant to be. An original monster movie not so over the top that it’s not scary. Although this movie has its serious and scary moments, to my surprise there were some funny moments that had my wife and me, laughing unapologetically. In the end, we were satisfied with our purchase on movie night. The directors did a great job spite having a budget of under $4 million and Nick Chinlund did an amazing job carrying this film alongside Kevin Greviox.
I won’t spoil the movie for you but like most monster movies there is a setup at the end of the movie that lends to the imagination that there will be a part two. Did you notice, or is it just me? My point is that I couldn’t help but walk away feeling like I wanted to see more Vega (Danny Trejo) and Paine (Ny’Acies Divine). That’s my only issue. I wanted more from Vega and Paine.
As a critic and a lover of movies, I’m intrigued to know more. Especially when there’s the possibility of part two starring a legendary A-list actor like Danny Trejo. So I asked myself, “what were the filmmakers thinking”? I thought about it and finally, it hit me like a duh moment was supposed to. Maybe, the directors were building up for part two where they bring Vega back to destroy all the Karnoctus beasts once and for all. It makes sense. However, I had to know more, so being the great self-proclaimed journalist I self proclaim to be. I do what all research journalists do, I went searching and searching for what I could find online about the movie that wasn't you know, obvious.
My findings would be the golden ticket no one else is talking about. The fact that this is an independent film company led by Cire Hensmen. I learned the film was created on a shoestring budget which is impressive, to say the least. I’m curious to know why this movie isn't plastered everywhere. My search didn’t end there. I had to prove my theory correct.
At last, I found it, or should I say him. When searching the https://www.thepreymovie.com website I came across something very interesting about one of the characters in the film. The actor that played Paine is a local Chicago recording artist named Ny’Acies that disappeared from the music industry over 12 years ago. Wait, it gets crazy. So apparently Ny’Acies performs the theme songs and music video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAWaxNpCPw4
Okay, here’s the twist, Ny’Acies has a website that I later learned he built himself to promote his theme song for the movie and other projects he’s working on. On his website https:www.nyaciesdivine.com, he has a soundtrack to the movie set to release in the first quarter of 2023. Guess what the title of the soundtrack is? The title of the soundtrack is Paine Vs Karnoctus. Bam! There you have it, folks. Does that mean my theory was shot on? Sure looks that way. Now that I’m on a roll, It’s time to get confirmation. I can’t see this working without Vega. I have to do more digging. I have to know more. Will we see more Vega? Will Danny Trejo be returning for part two? Who is Ny’Acies Divine? It there really a part two or just cap to sell the soundtrack? I definitely need to get to the bottom of this. Keep checking back, we’re going to be sure to keep you in the loop as this story evolves.
This would be an interesting match-up to see what Ny’Acies could do alongside a veteran like Danny Trejo. We’re going to reach out to Ny’Acies and try and get an interview with him.
